In an exclusive interview with Entretê, the rapper told us about the process of creating her songs and left a message for Brazilian fans
CAMO ( 카모) is a South Korean rapper, who debuted in the music industry in 2020 with her EP ICE. Considered one of the main new names in South Korean rap, she is preparing for her first North American tour, CAMO: WIFEY TOUR, which will pass through six states between the United States and Canada.
In an exclusive interview with Entretê, the artist spoke a little about her expectations with the tour and the process of creating her songs, beyond leaving a message for her Brazilian fans.

Entretetizei: Firstly, Entretetizei would like to thank you for granting this interview.
Please tell us a little about your process of entering the South Korean music market.
CAMO: Hey Entretetizei! Thanks for making time for this interview.
My current label 502 hit me up for distribution. They found my songs on Soundcloud and loved what they heard. I hit it off with the team and it’s been smooth sails since!
E: What was it like to debut as a rapper in a medium that is normally dominated by men?
C: There’s always been bad bitch female artists that I’ve looked up to, so honestly it felt natural.
E: Who are your inspirations, whether in rap or music?
C: These days it’s Ocatavian hehe
E: Your song “Wifey” is also the name of your tour. How was the creation process for the song? Were you able to participate closely in the production?
C: Yes, of course. I’ve participated in making the beat with 6ixxx and the others, and wrote the lyrics and melodies all by myself. I just wanted to make a light melodic song and asked 6ixxx if he could make one. He made a slight draft and I hopped on immediately, then developed the beat.
t like to perform for the first time in Europe? Did you expect it to be so well received by your fans? How was the whole experience?
C: I never expected the hospitality. Everyone was super sweet and nice and the energy was CRAZYYY. It was actually my first big performance and I’m so grateful that I got to perform in front of the best crowd on my first shot.
E: Now you are embarking on a tour, heading to North America with six shows spread across Canada and the United States, what are your expectations?
C: I hope I do well haha and hope I don’t let anyone down.
E: Do you want to visit other countries, such as Brazil?
C: Yes, of course!! I’ve seen a lot of fans on twitter that live in Brazil and they are all so nice and sweet, always sending me lots of love and support. I would loveee to visit Brazil.
E: In a short career time you have already managed to collaborate with some artists, but is there someone who is your dream collaborator? Not only in music, but also in production?
C: Yes, but that’s a secret cuz I’m gonna make it one day. hehe
E: What will be your next steps after the North American tour? Do you want to release more songs, albums or new dates for the tour?
C: I will be releasing a mixtape that you’ve never expected! Then, I’m gonna go chill and spend some money.
E: What advice would you give to women who dream of entering the South Korean music industry and, especially, embarking on rap?
C: I hope they focus on their music because if music is your strength, being a woman will become a big advantage point.
E: What message would you like to leave for your Brazilian fans and the people who cheer for you?
C: I’m so grateful for all of you! You guys give me so much motivation and love, and y’all really make me want to become a better artist. I will never forget that. Sending lots of love and hope to see you soon <3
