In her first interview for Brazil, Mahassine Merabet shares details about her career and the success of her character in Esaret. Check out the full interview!
Born in Morocco, in North Africa, Mahassine received an invitation to move to Türkiye. At just 25 years old, she’s been winning over audiences with her charm, talent, and beauty. We’re talking about Mahassine Merabet, an actress who, in her very first project, has already gained fans worldwide, with a special highlight in Brazil.
The success of Esaret and her partnership with Cenk Torun
In Esaret (2022–present), Mahassine plays Hira, a poor girl living the life of a prisoner under the control of traffickers. She falls in love with Orhun (Cenk Torun), a successful businessman raised in a wealthy but loveless family, alongside his twin sister Nihan (Cerensu Özçelik), younger sister Nurşah (Yağmur Çelik), and his cold, distant mother, Afife (Melahat Abbasova). The show is filled with revenge, passion, and tons of emotion.
The series quickly won over worldwide viewers, who have a special affection for both Mahassine and Cenk. Together, they form the #OrHir couple, which has become a huge hit on social media. In this exclusive interview for Entretetizei, Mahassine talks about her co-star and friend:
“Cenk is my only close friend in Turkey right now. It’s so much fun working with him because I think he’s a great actor. He really knows how to convey emotions. We don’t have any difficulties. I mean, he didn’t have any trouble either. I don’t think he had a hard time working with me. […] On the contrary, we laugh all the time. No matter how intense the scene is, we always find something to laugh about.”
Carrying on with Esaret, which is currently in its third season, the actress shares her thoughts on her character with a lot of affection:
“Hira has gone through so many changes from the first to the third season. A lot of time passes between the two seasons. Hira starts off as a very innocent girl. That’s how the story begins. Then, despite everything that happens to her, she stays strong, but she becomes more mature later on. […] She’s such a good character. The kind of person who treats everyone well and expects no harm from anyone. You know, the girl who treats people well even when they treat her badly. That’s Hira.”
