VMA: MTV anuncia indicados da premiação

Justin Bieber, Billie Eilish, Drake e Olivia Rodrigo são alguns dos nomes que estão concorrendo no VMA. A votação está aberta a partir de hoje e vai até o dia 3 de setembro

A MTV divulgou hoje (12), os indicados ao MTV Video Music Awards 2021 e a lista está incrível. A premiação acontecerá no dia 12 de setembro, a partir das 20h e será transmitido ao vivo pelo canal, direto do Barclays Center, em Nova York.

O VMA reúne artistas que tiveram impacto cultural e transformaram a indústria da música. E não é surpresa para ninguém que Justin Bieber lidera a lista, com sete indicações. Logo em seguida, com seis indicações, estão Megan Thee Stallion e Billie Eilish., Doja Cat, Drake, Billie Eilish, Doja Cat, Drake, Giveon, Lil Nas X e Olivia Rodrigo, indicada pela primeira vez, receberam cinco indicações cada.

Os fãs podem votar em seus artistas favoritos a partir de hoje (11) até sexta-feira, dia 3 de setembro. Serão 14 categorias, incluindo Clipe do Ano, Artista do Ano, Melhor Feat e Música do Ano. A votação para Artista Revelação ficará aberta até a data do show, 12 de setembro. Indicados nas categorias digitais como Melhor Banda e Música do Verão serão anunciados em breve.

Com a pauta da diversidade em alta, a MTV está dando visibilidade aos criadores negros e indígenas, durante um dos principais momentos do VMA. Para isso, o canal fechou uma parceria com Marlene Marmolejos (@ motionmami ), Aja Walton (@ ajackdannie ) e Fred Sands IV ( @ IVormerlyknownas ) para anunciar as categorias Clipe do Ano, Música do Ano e Artista do Ano por meio de cada um de seus diversos meios: da arte digital à nail art.

Em meio à pandemia do novo Coronavírus, o VMA irá fazer um evento com público presencial, em Nova York, uma vez que a cidade foi reaberta depois do sucesso da vacinação. A saúde e segurança dos artistas, fãs, produção e parceiros continua sendo prioridade. Para isso, a MTV e o Barclays Center estão trabalhando juntos com o poder público e autoridades locais para implementar as melhores práticas para garantir a segurança de todos.
